Turkic nobles on half armoured horses

This range represents the Turkic dynasties from the so-called "Dark Ages," until the fall of the Uighurs of Turfan in the early 14th century. This includes the mighty Gok Turk Khanate, the Ghuzz (Oghuz), Turgesh, Ferghanans, Qarakhanids and many other dynasties. The Uighurs wore distinctive garb and relied on large forces of infantry in close order, more so than other Turkic dynasties. In the sets below, "CAT" is used to mean "Central Asian Turkic." Several of the mounted codes come with several different horse options -- whilst all of the combinations are not illustrated, all of the riders, and all of the horses, are shown in the images above. Some of the mounted archer poses are break-waist so they may be depicted shooting forward. The command set comes with an optional wolf-head windsock -- to use this, trim down the standardbearer's pointed finial and a bit of the pole as well, and glue the windsock on. This was used in addition to a flag, not instead of it. The noble horse archers in the range are the same figurines as the Sogdian Diqhan magnates, because the Diqhans were made to be identical to other noble Turks. Some of these models can be used in our Khazar range as well, both the foot as levies, and the mounted as irregular Khazars, or as Turkic subjects or mercenaries. .
