15mm Napoleonic

These are Russians in the so-called "1812 pattern" concave shako, a very handsome design which, like many other Napoleonic topics, is endlessly debated! A rough consensus (if such a thing is possible in Napoleonic discussion) is that this shako would have been rare in 1812, and increasingly common afterward. We are starting with line infantry in overcoats, a very common field dress of the Russian soldier, and will expand our overcoat offerings in the future to include more infantry, then artillery, and if the range is well received, cavalry.

French infantry, Ligne (line) and Legere (lights), in the pre-Bardin-reforms uniform and wearing shako. It's likely that this uniform would have been worn by many if not most French ligne regiments in Russia in 1812, and well into 1813 by some regiments as well.

The models are depicted in the appearance most likely for large battles -- other than the officers, they are still wearing their loose campaigning trousers, but have removed their overcoats and shako covers, although they have not gone as far as to attach their shako cords. It seems that breeches, gaiters and shako cords would have been visible only on parade and other ceremonial duties. Sculpted by Mike Broadbent, painted by Rafa Archiduque or Steve Dean.
