Timurids, Late 14th to Early 15th Centuries
|
This range represents the armies of one of the greatest conquerors of all time -- Timur-i Lenk, also known as Tamerlane (or many variants of that spelling). This legendarily cruel and ruthless man forged for himself an enormous empire, using armies with a core of Turco-Mongol cavalry to crush the Mamluks, Ottomans, Delhi Sultanate, assorted Persian dynasties and Golden Horde on the battlefield.
Turcoman horse archers can be fielded using either the Timurid bow armed heavy cavalry on unarmoured horses or our upcoming tribal Turcomans. We also have plans to make the remainder of the troops types for Timur's era, which will occur gradually.
Note that all cavalry sets are available with armoured or unarmoured horses -- if an image is not available, the riders are the same as in the other set, but provided with the opposite type of horse (which horses are also visible elsewhere on the page).
